Breathing in Hope: Building Community and Breaking Down Barriers to Support Asthma Home Visiting
June 1 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
NESCSO is pleased to provide travel assistance for member state staff to participate in the Breathing in Hope: Building Community and Breaking Down Barriers to Support Asthma Home Visiting meeting on June 1st in Manchester, NH.
The purpose of this summit is to support efforts to spread, improve and sustain Asthma Home Visiting Services in New England. In-home asthma interventions aim to improve asthma outcomes and reduce healthcare costs among those most burdened by the disease – Black, Latino, and low-income adults and children. Generally, they focus on reducing exposures to environmental triggers and providing asthma self-management education, both included in the NHBLI EPR 3 Guidelines on Asthma.
During the day long convening, there will be presentations on successful intervention models, policy efforts and challenges. There will be breakout sessions to promote peer learning amongst those who are conducting asthma home visits, and those who are focused on policy efforts. This is particularly valuable to people working in the field – who are often isolated from each other.
The meeting venue is being confirmed. Please check back for details.
