Building Stronger HHS Agencies in New England
NESCSO is dedicated to supporting State Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies throughout New England and beyond. We focus on four key areas to empower your agency and its staff:
Fostering Collaboration through Learning Communities
- Leveraging Expertise: We recognize the vast knowledge within state HHS agencies. Our Learning Communities provide forums for professionals to share best practices, collaborate on projects, and learn from peers.
- Peer-to-Peer Learning: These communities are member-driven, focusing on topics like data analytics, market oversight, pharmacy, and quality.
- Active Support: NESCSO helps by scheduling meetings, managing projects, facilitating access to experts, and arranging travel to conferences.
Supporting Effective Technology Adoption
- Annual Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (MESC): This industry-leading event brings together thousands of professionals to share best practices, discover innovative solutions, and learn about federal policy initiatives related to Medicaid technology.
- Northeast Regional Demonstrations Meeting (NERDS): Coming in April 2025! This multi-day event offers in-depth demonstrations from Medicaid technology vendors, allowing you to explore solutions and network with colleagues.
Building Strong Partnerships
- CMS Systems Technical Advisory Group (S-TAG): NESCSO provides administrative support to this vital forum, ensuring clear communication and information exchange between state agencies and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
- Private Sector Technology Group (PSTG) – our partnership ensures that our member states and the broader based MES Community has access to industry leading organizations which provide topic-based guidance with a “leave your logo at the door” approach.
- NAMD-NESCSO CIO Affinity Group: This recently formed group facilitates communication and understanding of upcoming regulatory changes, helping states prepare for new policies.
Maximizing Member State Benefits & Services
- Annual Benefit Package: NESCSO provides member states with a range of benefits to support professional development, including training, conference participation, leadership initiatives, and participation in national policy discussions.
